My Very Big Very Important Debut!!!!! March 31, 2008

OMG what are you doing here? You should be watching the new DiVAS Episode 5 where I make my stunning machinima acting debut!! I even got a front credit! That’s big, real big. Huge in fact!

And no, it didn’t slip past my radar that the title of the episode is “Dancing QueenS”!!! I’m quick like that, I tell ya.

Tunnel of Light March 27, 2008

A new feature on my blog! Cool places to visit! The category title is called “Hop Skip & a Jump” in memory of my Grandma from a phrase she used to say all the time. She loved to travel, and when we were kids anytime she talked about anyplace it was always only a “hop, skip & a jump” away. Hehe…and now in SL it really is!

Sooo……..First up is a Windlight Exclusive place. Yes, you holdouts, you need Windlight to enjoy the beauty of this place. It’s The Tunnel of Light! And it’s allll about the glow…

I’m only showing a few pics, and honestly, the pics don’t even come close to the experience. Much of what you see is moving, animated or otherwise. It’s amazingly beautiful!

It’s essentially a ride you take through a series of “lands”…feels a bit like Disneyland on Acid

You can stop the car at anytime too (it moves you up and out of the way)…and at the end you can come back and walk around any of the areas.

I went there a few times, and one time I was there lo and behold there’s my Mysti Tool telling me that the Creator Spiral Walcher was there with a “cup” full of people, prolly giving a personal tour to some friends. Caught a quick snap…

There’s a gift shop where you can get various glowy stuff and cool top hats with little scenes from the Tunnel of Light in them.

So set your sun for midnight, fire up the Windlight err Release Candidate and head on down to The Tunnel of Light…you won’t regret it!

Who’s a DiVA? March 26, 2008

So in my SLife it’s been a crazy..week or so now. Sheesh. I’m soo far behind on piccies but I’m working to go through and upload them.

But yesterday is going into my Top Five Coolest SL Experiences. On Monday I found out I was chosen with a few other lovely ladies for a walk-on role for the upcoming Episode 5 of DiVAS! And yesterday was shoot day! I had soooo much fun and laughed so hard. I can’t wait to see the final ep!

I’m going to be purposely vauge for now about my (small) role and anything to do with the episode until it comes out. And I have pictures from the shoot but those will have to wait, too. But until then, I leave you with some purties I took of my look.

SL Version of a Booger? March 25, 2008

So just now I’m at Armidi running in quick to pick up something and I get an IM for a nice gal who tells me….”Um, you aren’t wearing any pants.”

Except I was wearing pants. Glitch pants in fact. Under my system skirt.

Both of which I could see.

To me, I was perfectly dressed. To the masses I looked like a crazy fashionista female version of a shirt cocker.

Rebaking apparently didn’t help.

Perhaps my over-exploding inventory has something to do with it…time to manually clear my cache and cross my fingers….

So learn from this lesson, ladies: if you see someone partially nakies, perhaps they don’t realize it. And don’t let your inventory get out of hand!!
Now go, do the right thing.

The Queen has a castle! March 21, 2008

Ok, it’s actually a crown. And it’s not a home technically, it’s going to be my store…when I’ve finished enough items to justify opening.

So why do I have a store without anything (yet) to sell? Well, I didn’t exactly plan on getting land this early, but an opportunity came up that I didn’t want to miss out on. So I’ve got a great little spot at a terrific price in a nice neighborhood.

Right now the build is a work-in-progress…which is how I like it. I tend to build in fits and starts, do a bunch of work and let it sit for a while, look at it, study it, think about what I want, make changes. So this will give me plenty of time to fine tune while I work on my store items.

Which will be….?? I’m struggling to define what I want my store to be. But I do have a name!……wait for it….

Royally

Which I think is quite fitting for a Queen and all. But what will I put in my store? So far I’m working on stuff from clothing to accessories to jewelry to Avie’s and gadgets…every gamet. Which I know isn’t really good for marketing/branding but fokit, it’s my store, I’ll do as I please.

The truth is, my inspirations are far and wide, and sometimes might be a little strange. One thing I’ve realized in the past few days that is inspiring me the most right now is thinking about Burning Man. Some of my first items will probably be based somewhat on RL items I’ve made/worn/modded to wear there. I think this has helped me a bit as I learn/remember various photoshop techniques for making good SL clothing (and good prim torturing :). It’s good to have a solid visual to focus on. And it doesn’t even have to be that cool: I’ve spent way more time than I’d like to admit the past week squinting at the RL wrinkles on my RL shirts.

It thinks I hate it, when in fact I’ve just been thinking about what type of stuff I want to blog here. And I’ve now decided it doesn’t matter: whatever I want. So look for anything from the silly, the mundane, the deep thoughts, rants n raves, tech babble, fashion squee, tutorialz, and a lot of blah blah. Someday when I make enough cool stuff I’ll open a store and bore you all with that. But until then…

Two posts in two days…Yay for me. Someone fetch me my treat.

I’m planning this long drawn out post, really I am, but for the sake of simply posting that one is on hold-io while I bring you….big hair via Miss Bettiepage Voyager of BP*

I know I’m about the eleventyth-million person to blog this hair but it deserves mad props. I also noticed today she had set the hair for sale. In case you’re too cool for school and can’t be seen chomping at the bit, screaming at a chair about how it’s H AGAIN!!!
